DAD and GRANDPA

My Dad was one the best people I have ever known. I looked up to him so much and admired what he did for his family as well as for strangers. I will always remember my Dad being there when I needed to talk. He was always so sweet to my Mom and treated her like a Queen. Growing up my parents always made sure we went on family vacation every summer, that we had family dinners together and always had what we needed. Now having my own family I admire that so much. After my Mom passed away he did so good at remembering all the birthdays and calling me almost every Sunday to say hi and see how my family was doing. Even when he started getting a little sick several months back he was always so positive and never wanted us to worry about him. I am so glad that I went to Utah to visit him the week after Thanksgiving while he was in the hospital, he was always so happy and positive, he would always tell us he'll be home in a few days. He was such a wonder father, father in law and most of all Grandpa. The kids loved having Grandpa Hunsaker come and visit or us going to meet him at his cabin in Utah. The kids would sit forever with him and a magnet board asking him draw different pictures for them. He loved to tell them stories and read to them. He always had a big imagination. Even though they won't be able to remember everything about him they will always know how much he loved them and how he can't wait to see them again. I am so glad to know that my family can be together forever and that I will be able to see my Dad and Mom again. I love my Dad and will miss his so much.

A little bit more about my Dad
Weldon Reuel Hunsaker 1942 ~ 2008 Weldon Reuel Hunsaker, age 66, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on December 15, 2008 from a sudden respiratory illness. He was born February 5th 1942, in Salt Lake City, to Reuel and Zilpha Cox Hunsaker. Weldon lived his life in service to others, and his optimistic and cheerful nature endeared him to those he served. He was often heard to say, "Just love 'em." When he was a young boy his family moved from Salt Lake City to the family farm in Draper, Utah. It was there he learned to farm with his father and work in the plastering business. He graduated from Jordan High School and after served a mission to Tokyo, Japan. He attended BYU, and then met his sweetheart, Pauline Boggess. They were married March 17th, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had six children, three daughters and three sons. At the time of his passing he was serving as a member of the Orem Sharon Stake High Council and a member of the Sharon 5th ward. After the passing of his beloved Pauline on November 14, 1999, Weldon later met and married Ann T. Meyers. Together they spent several years in loving support of each other and their families. His testimony of Jesus Christ and His eternal plan was the central and most important part of his life along with his love for his family. Kaison turns 6!!

After eating Kaison's breakfast he picked out for his birthday we packed up and headed down to my other brothers house for Christmas day dinner and Kaison's birthday party. We had to hurry because of course it was snowing again.

Kaison got a lot of fun things for his birthday. He got a Leapster, three games for it, a dart board from my brothers family and earlier that day two Webkins from my sisters family. I always let the kids pick what kind of cake they want me to make and he decided to have a HULK cake.

Can't believe he is 6 already. He is getting so BIG!

My brothers family had us for Christmas this year so we opened those presents that night too.

The morning after Christmas we woke up to over two feet of snow and it continued to snow all day! The kids had a great time sledding, riding the four wheeler and playing in all that snow. When we did finally drive around the sides of the road were so piled up in snow it reminded you of the Rocky movie when he was in Russia training.

One of the days we were there my brother decided to take Ernie ice fishing for the first time. They had a great time!!
As you can tell by the pictures the only fish they caught were their bate fish, they didn't know how to delete on my camera. Don't they look so SURPRISED!

Thanks Uncle Jason, Aunt Kim, Tucker, Shyanne, Colten and Ashton for letting us play and stay at your house, we all had a great time. After spending four days there we finally headed home to Colorado. It was a fun, sad and exciting trip to Utah for the Christmas holiday. The best part was being able to see so much family.

Christmas in Utah

This year for Christmas we spent it in Utah. We decided to go there after we heard my Dad was not doing well in the hospital. We got there on Saturday morning went and saw him that day. The kids were a little nervous to see him in the hospital because of all the tubes and breathing mask he had on, but I am so glad they got to talk to him one last time before he past away two days later on Monday December 16th. We brought all our Christmas stuff not knowing what was going to happen, so we decided with the funeral being the weekend before Christmas we would stay and do Christmas in Utah. My younger sister Katrina, her daughter Shanece and boyfriend Jake stayed too, so we all stayed at my brothers house in Draper and had Christmas there. My brothers family were having Christmas in California so we had his house to ourselves.
The week before Christmas we had a great time with all my family.

We went to the mall and saw Santa, he was a fabulous Santa.

My sister bought gingerbread houses for us to decorate.

Thanks Aunt Katrina!

We played in the gym, this was great because it snowed almost everyday we were there and the kids needed somewhere to go and run.

Ernie loved it too of course.

We all loved watching movies in the theater. It was a nice way for all of us to relax and have fun. This picture has two of my brothers, Katrina and their kids in it. Ernie and Kaison are in the back row.

On Christmas Eve we each open a present each with new pj's in them.

They were all so excited for Santa to come!

That morning the kids were all so excited to get their presents from Santa Kaison got a scooter, Aspyn got her Princess scooter and Courtlyn got a piano. Santa left their stockings full of fun stuff.

We all had a great Christmas. Aspyn got a Leapster, Kaison got 2 PS2 games and Courtlyn got a bunch of little people. Ernie got a Broncos hat and I got the Mama Mia DVD and soundtrack. It was a very fun morning and we were glad we got to spend it with family.

One thing they always get every year is a box of cereal they never get to have. This year they also got those cereal straws, they always ask for but never get, they were really excited about those.

Courtlyn loves Little People stuff, right now she enjoys chewing on all of it. Cousin Shanece helped her open it.

Courtlyn loved her first candy cane, YUMMY!! She got mad when it got too small and I had to take it away.

A big thanks to Uncle Bryan, Aunt Carolyn, Kennedy, Emily, Erick and Tyler for letting us stay at your house for two week.

Putting up our Chirstmas tree

The kids always love decorating the tree. When we decorate our tree we let the kids puts things where they want and when Aspyn puts all her ornaments on one branch we fix those a little later. Courtlyn tried to stand up to the tree and fell right through the branches, that was probably the funniest moment to the night.

The Denver Zoo

We finally got the Denver Zoo this year. This was Courtlyns first time to the zoo. This monkey loved coming up the glass, it made everyone laugh.

I think Courtlyns favorite parts were the merry go round and train ride. Kaison couldn't wait to go and see the aligators and Aspyn was so excited to see all the monkeys. The kids and I really had a great time at the zoo.
